WPE WebKit is an upstream port of WebKit. So that means that all the
code development happens directly on webkit.org and is integrated there
by default.

But the code available on webkit.org trunk/master is a nightly version,
which may be unstable or have issues.

If you are wondering about how we do the stable/unstable releases then
the answer is that we release a new major stable version each 6 months,
and several beta ones in the between. You can find more about this here:
https://wpewebkit.org/release/schedule/

We maintain (with security fixes and other type of fixes) the stable
releases for 6 months (until the new stable one is released). Beta
releases are not mantained with security fixes, they are just preview
versions of the next stable.

Hope this answers your questions. Let me know if it doesn't.

Regards.
