The remote inspector doesn't work with Chrome. You need to use any
WebKitGTK+ based browser. You can use MiniBrowser or Epiphany.

This approach doesn't always work either, because the inspector uses
JavaScript features not supported by other browsers. So, even when
using the legacy remote inspector, a WebKit browser is recommended or
even required. In this case you could use Safari, though.
