Thank you for the report. Could you please clarify if this ever worked correctly for you?
Here is what I am seeing:
macOS 15.2 beta, built-in Safari:
- Getting a male voice.
- If I set the rate to more than 1.0, then it's garbled on the first play, and plays as rate 1 in subsequent plays.
- If I set the rate to less than 1.0, then it's slow on the first play, and plays as rate 1 in subsequent plays.
macOS 14.6.1, built-in Safari:
- Getting a female voice.
- If I set the rate to more than 1.0, then it's always garbled.
- If I set the rate to less than 1.0, then it's always slow.
STP 207 on macOS 15.2 behaves in the same way as built-in Safari. I suspect that this is a macOS change below WebKit, but it would still be good to confirm if this is exactly what you are seeing too.
