I tried a few tests which pass locally for me, with the same baseline on 10.6 and 10.8. Sounds like that's not representative.

…anyway, if someone does what's suggested in comment 11, note that I tried doing this in content shell drt and read the changes linked from comment 12 before moving ahead.
