Incorporating Eric & Kling's comment

After discussion with Eric & Kling, it was suggested to write a small parser to skip whitespace & then compare the string with "inherit"/"initial".

Also Eric gave the comment to modify the test case.

All the proposed changes are being incorporated in this patch.
