As of 6533.21.1, r90699 the problem seems to have been fixed. I didn't have to remove Glims.

I don't know whether, next time (if there is one), it would help to describe (1) my Glims settings and/or (2) the gadgets on my iGoogle page. Given your suggestion, though, it wouldn't have been at all easy to remove Glims inasmuch as Webkit crashed upon startup.

Perhaps the solution would have involved starting up offline, removing Glims, and changing to a different start page? (I'm looking for suggestions on troubleshooting after-the-fact, even though the problem seems to have been fixed.)
