Launching of the default browser is not handled by WebKit.  You can probably
fix your problem by changing your default FTP client, rather than the default
browser.  The Transmit FTP client (<http://www.panic.com/transmit/>) provides
an option to do this in its preferences.  I believe the free demo should be
sufficient to try that theory out.
