That wasn't very clear.

If Safari still crashes or doesn't play QuickTime in the new account, that
means there's an issue with the system (not your account specifically).  We
won't know what, but we can eliminate settings in your account as being the
cause.

If Safari works in the new account (and doesn't crash), that means that there
is probably some setting (or software in ~/Library/) in your primary account
that is causing this issue.
