The only handler that looks promising to me is onMouseUp, but it doesn't get
called either. I think it would be more reasonable to open a new bug for that
rather than to reopen this bug, to avoid confusion.

This is AFAIK correct, onChange is only supposed to be called when the control
loses focus.
