Summary: editing text fields with mouse has become nightmarish
           Product: WebKit
           Version: 420+ (nightly)
          Platform: Macintosh
        OS/Version: Mac OS X 10.4
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Forms
        AssignedTo: webkit-unassigned at opendarwin.org
        ReportedBy: emark2k at yahoo.com

Doesn't matter the page, but on various sites with forums / threads composing
text has become so difficult I have resorted to using a text editor w/ copy
paste.  This does seem to be specific to long posts.  I am not sure how long
they need to be exactly, but it is more than I've written here...

problems specifically revolve around selecting text with the mouse.  Clicking
with mouse to set insertion sites for cursor doesn't result accurate
placement.  Further, scroll speed is completely out of control if you do get
your cursor where you want and try to say select up a line or two you end up
zooming a paragraph or three at a time....just unpredictable.  Trying to select
strings of text is erratic as far as speed and direction of selection.  One can
work around it with keyboard only editing.

Also, noticed in trying to to test edit here that selections can go outside
this text field and spill onto the page.  And just at this point in writing I
am now hitting problems with selection as noted above...so perhaps it is
getting longer entry then the size/shape for entry on the page without using
the scroll?

Sorry to be so imprecise, but it is hard to quantify...but easily repeatbale
for several days worth of nightly's.

thanks
