Position Summary

The Web Platform Standards and Implementation Bootstrap group is incubating, prototyping, proposing and implementing new Web features. The new Web features typically come from the group's interaction with the Web community, the Adobe product teams and participation in different standards organizations. Prototypes are developed in WebKit and, when ready, a specification proposal is made to the appropriate standard body (typically the W3C) along with a prototype demonstrating the new feature and its value. For example, the Web standards platform group has recently proposed and prototyped the CSS Regions, CSS Exclusions and CSS Shaders features. We are looking for multi-faceted UI designer that is responsible for implementing leading-edge, interactive, rich media demonstrations within our Web Platform Innovation team. Candidates must be able to program advanced JavaScript (with our without frameworks such as JQuery), CSS 3, HTML5 and to create motion graphics and design comps. The designer will interface with other designers, engineers and developers in order to demonstrate and show case new technologies developed in the group.

Responsibilities

 *   Build rich demo applications and show cases using the latest CSS, SVG, HTML and Webkit technologies developed by the group.
 *   Ability to learn and contribute to the documentation of the new features developed by the team JavaScript library.
 *   Keep technically abreast of changes, advancements, and/or improvements in the areas of CSS, SVG, HTML, 2D and 3D Graphics, animation and video.
Requirements

 *   BS/BA or equivalent; Computer Science or Equivalent is preferred.
 *   5+ years advanced web/graphics design/development experience.
 *   Strong JavaScript programming skills.
 *   Strong communication, organization and time management/prioritization skills.
 *   In depth understanding of DOM manipulation, CSS cascade, CSS layout, SVG and Canvas rendering models.
 *   Experience with UI engineering.
 *   Ability to use Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
Preferred Experience:

 *   3+ Years of experience with UI engineering in the Web Development platform.
 *   Experience with HTML5 (specifically media type tags), and CSS3 coding (specifically animation and webkit technologies).
 *   Ability to use DreamWeaver.
