Thank you for your email! I apologize that I did not explain the reason why we are posting this position on webkit-jobs mail list. This position demands a skill set of low level web development on different browsers. Our perfect candidate is someone who has thorough understanding of web technology (i.e. page rendering, script engines, ...) and is also an expert in following strict design and programming guidelines (such as what we have seen in webkit project). Basically, I found webkit a very well developed project from all different aspects of software engineering.  From my point of view, a developer who is successfully active in such a project and familiar with good software development practices is more important than the language that he is an expert in. At the end of the day, if an open source project is developed in C++, IMO it does not mean that the community supporting it only knows C++.
