Google Software Engineer, Mobile Browser

Google engineers continue to stretch the boundaries of how people connect
with information, and this extends to the company's mobile initiatives. Our
mobile applications software team includes talented engineers who work on
problems unique to mobile computing, from inception through the end of the
product development lifecycle. As such, we've designated Google's Londonoffice
as one of the company's centres of excellence for mobile development. Here,
we strive to create innovative products and services that work on mobiledevices
for those who need access wherever they go.
The role: Software Engineer, Mobile Browser

Our team is involved in a number of areas including next-generation
mobileapplications that use cutting edge Web technologies, location
based services
and our unique massive scale infrastructure. You will be involved in
enhancing our mobile applications platform, adding support for new Web
standards and protocols while, at the same time, closely cooperating with
other Google mobile applications teams.
Responsibilities:

   - Working on state of the art browser projects involving the Android Web
   browser, WebKit and V8.
   - Implement cutting edge Web standards and protocols including HTML5 and
   Geolocation.
   - Collaborate with the Google Chrome, V8 and Gears teams.

Requirements:

   - Minimum of a BSc in computer science, or equivalent experience.
   - Experience working on a Web browser project. WebKit experience is a
   plus.
   - Strong knowledge of object-oriented design and programming skills.
   - Strong knowledge of C++. Knowledge of Java is a plus.
   - Good knowledge of Web standards and protocols including Javascript,
   HTML, CSS, HTTP.
   - Familiarity with Unix/Linux.
