[webkit-help] Purpose of WebView

Hi guys,

My apologies for a noobish question, but:

what is the actual purpose of WebView ?
Why for example ChromeClient acts as a proxy for most of its function calls, forwarding them to WebView ?
Shouldn't ChromeClient interact directly with Page object ?
