Sure, there might be a bug in a PPA or a nightly, but JSC isn't inherently (or >at all) a problematic/inferior engine (surely your problem doesn't exist in shipping Safari, for example). I've had quite a few issues with vBulletin forums, in terms of it
double posting whenever I post using Quick Reply. Editing posts on
vBulletin doesn't work as well, as the edit form never appears when I
click the edit button on a post. The grey comment bar that lets you
filter comments on Slashdot flashes when I scroll. And there's this
weird grey box on the right hand side that flashes I go to
www.avsforum.com. None of these issues exist on Chromium, and some of
them were in WebKitGTK+ 1.1.* as well.
Perhaps, it's time to look at other engines as V8 is natively suppoted
by Google themselves on Linux and Unix systems. It could be always
added as a build option, like Pango, to give users and distributions a
choice.
Note: I'm going to get around to filling bugs for those issues today
or tommorrow. :P
Thanks,
