This is what we want to have to be able to support custom protocols.

This is absolutely not required for python bindings to be developed.

That is much harder to do than it sounds. Of course it is doable, but it
would take too much precious time we can invest into improving libsoup
instead.

All of these will be made possible by the changes proposed to soup that
