Would we also need to support things like Macrovision? Digital video is 
gaining traction and it would be a shame to not be able to play video 
from extremely high-definition sources such as DVDs. In any case, not 
implementing the automatic gain control would help, but I have no idea 
if that's a good idea (piracy concerns et al).

Also, another important thing: I believe the eject() method should throw 
an exception when the tape has not been rewound. Most VHS rental places 
will charge a fee if the user forgets to do so.
