Here is the deal breaker for HLS. I am so certain it was working for me. Someone is reporting it is not working for them in Safari 9 but I now have it rendering but in Safari 10 but not 9.
It certainly does not work in IOS but on OSX Safari 10 it does.
Some kind of regression or sabotage if you will changes have happened I have noticed then.
A recent update to IOS has now officially broken the proxy hack to stop it working. Says source not supported.
If people want Apple device support they need the proxy hack but it seems they've gone to great lengths to kill it off completely.</pre>
