<pre>STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1. Open page, create timeline recording
2. Go to rendering frames timeline
3. Zoom all the way out to get really narrow bars
4. Make a selection on the timeline and drag back and forth (or drag a selection)
EXPECTED:
overview selection is buttery smooth
ACTUAL:
It's very choppy, rendering only a few frames a second.
NOTES:
The data grid and pie chart are able to keep up, so maybe we are doing something dumb in the selection relayout logic.</pre>
