In IPC, a URL is encoded as a string and will be decoded by passing the string to WebCore::URL::URL(ParsedURLStringTag, const String& url) to skip some redundant parsing steps. However, if the URL passed to the decoder is actually invalid, it should not be parsed at all. Therefore, WebCore::URL should be enhanced with constructors to create invalid URLs directly and encoder/decoder should be tuned to distinguish between valid and invalid URLs.

Once this is done, we should fix the FIXME at WebCore::URL::init
// FIXME: Instead of assigning the m_string to blankURL(), we should
// figure out a way to preserve the original malformed URL strings.
