This is specified by CSS: <<a href="https://drafts.csswg.org/css-images/#gradients">https://drafts.csswg.org/css-images/#gradients</a>>
"with the interpolation taking place in premultiplied RGBA space"
but that text is expected to change once Mac and iOS can support interpolation in non-premultiplied.</pre>
