In bug #155664 (173796 at main) a cap was introduced for the iOS port, while for Mac the limit is UINT32_MAX. We should do something similar, and maybe even have a lower cap even for the GTK port, as 4 GiB of session data per web view sounds a bit ridiculous. For the WPE port, given the focus on embedded devices, we may want to have a somewhat lower limit.
