Screenshot of the bug
I can reproduce this bug in Safari 18.0.1 and Safari Technology Preview 206 on macOS 15 Sequoia and macOS 14 Sonoma. The bug did not occur in Safari 17 or 16.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Open https://www.w3.org/2010/05/video/mediaevents.html in Safari 18
2) Start playing the video
3) Press the fullscreen button to enter fullscreen
4) Press the fullscreen button to exit fullscreen
Expected results: The video controls are displayed as they were before step 3, showing the timeline, fullscreen and PiP buttons, volume, Airplay, etc.
Actual results: Only the play/pause button is displayed. See the attached screenshot after.png.
