When the network switches or fails, all ensuing modifications are lost without even alerting the user that they are offline. In most https://geometrylite.org cases, the connection never comes back, resulting in the loss of all user data.
Great! Therefore, it must have been fixed in v17, even though some of the v17.x release notes here https://developer.apple.com/documentation/safari-release-notes don't mention it.
