The explanation of what the code does is at 
https://github.com/HinTak/chromium-mod-CI - since you don't use opentype sanitizer, you don't need half of part 1, and you used to be able to do ot-svg, it is unlikely you need patch 2. So mostly you should only need the one-line code addition as in skia-python.
