Thanks a lot Jacob for the test case. 
I'm trying to reproduce on macOS but without success so far with STP 207.

If I press toggle background, it alternates between green and white.
If I press show modal dialog, it displays the dialog in full height, stuck to the right side (and I need to reload to have access again to the buttons.)

to note that in system settings, 
the "show scroll bars" is set for me to "automatically based on mouse or trackpad"
