            Bug ID: 273574
Summary: Difference in font rendering (font synthesis with
                    nested strong/em?)
           Product: WebKit
           Version: WebKit Nightly Build
          Hardware: Unspecified
                OS: macOS 14
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Text
          Assignee: webkit-unassigned at lists.webkit.org
          Reporter: jonlee554 at gmail.com
                CC: fantasai.bugs at inkedblade.net, vitor.roriz at apple.com

Scroll through https://www.hawaiicmf.org/concerts. Compare rendering between Chrome 121 (and Firefox) and Safari 17.3.1.

The artist names and the instruments they play have various uses of <strong> and <em>. In some cases they are (mistakenly) nested.

It seems like Safari renders the text with font synthesis, as it appears much thicker than Chrome.
