Bug ID: 270786
Summary: Selection of non-overlapping text rendered as
self-intersecting
Product: WebKit
Version: Safari 17
Hardware: Unspecified
OS: Unspecified
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P2
Component: Layout and Rendering
Assignee: webkit-unassigned at lists.webkit.org

Reproduction
I have a page containing only text, in three paragraphs:
- some full-width text
- some text split in two columns
- some full-width text
When I select everything, some selection areas are painted twice, resulting in a darker color. Additionally, there is a white "hole" in the middle of an otherwise full selection.
If I don't select the first paragraph, then I get a very nice selection that only highlights areas containing text.
