            Bug ID: 270650
           Summary: Enable 'Notifications' API in Worker Context (enabled
                    right now for Dedicated and Service Workers)
           Product: WebKit
           Version: WebKit Nightly Build
          Hardware: Unspecified
                OS: Unspecified
            Status: NEW
          Keywords: BrowserCompat, WPTImpact
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: New Bugs
          Assignee: webkit-unassigned at lists.webkit.org
          Reporter: ahmad.saleem792 at gmail.com

Hi Team,

This is bug to address following FIXME:

https://searchfox.org/wubkat/source/Source/WebCore/Modules/notifications/Notification.idl#32

" FIXME: Notification should be exposed to all Worker contexts, not just ServiceWorker and DedicatedWorker."

As per Web-Spec:

https://notifications.spec.whatwg.org/#api

It is:

[Exposed=(Window,Worker)]

While our current:

Exposed=(Window,DedicatedWorker,ServiceWorker)

___

We also have to update to make following not nullable:

Current:

[Exposed=Window, CallWith=CurrentDocument] static Promise<NotificationPermission> requestPermission(optional NotificationPermissionCallback? deprecatedCallback);

Web-Spec:

[Exposed=Window] static Promise<NotificationPermission> requestPermission(optional NotificationPermissionCallback deprecatedCallback);

____

It is leading to us failing 40 tests on WPT while all other browsers are passing:

WPT Tests: https://wpt.fyi/results/notifications/idlharness.https.any.sharedworker.html?label=experimental&label=master&aligned=&q=safari%3Afail+firefox%3Apass+chrome%3Apass

Just raising so we can track what is needed etc.

Thanks!
