There's a bug in Safari on iOS and iPadOS where clicking outside a popover (the background) doesn't close it, unlike other browsers and Safari on macOS. This functionality is broken even with a keyboard Esc key press. Interestingly, using a https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/top-4-capstone-project-writing-services-comprehensive-gloria-kopp-ofalf trackpad with an iPad closes the popover as expected, but the Esc key shortcut doesn't work.
