;) Not an AAPI mapping issue. 

The iOS behavior is intended, but the team is considering the concern you raised about "description" being overly verbose.

The Mac VoiceOver behavior is intended to be amended to match the intended API. The Mac VO team is aware of the discrepancy. 

IIRC, Chrome works b/c Aaron rolled back the API change in Chrome awaiting the Mac VO change.
