That is very old and we don't support such old stack. I'm actually surprised the bundle managed to start there.

I think you would be better served by upgrading your software stack instead of fighting with it.

You can install Debian that is specially friendly with old hardware (it needs low resources) and let's you choose which desktop you wish at installation time, so you can choose XFCE or LXDE which should work fine with computers with old hardware or poor graphics drivers.
