Still early in the testing but I think we might be seeing a fix in the latest Safari patch included with the latest "security rapid release" macOS 12.3.1 (a), iPhone/iPad OS 16.4.1 (a).

MacOS Safari version is 16.4 (18615.1.26.110.1).
