            Bug ID: 266664
Summary: Apple logo broken in Verdana font in Mail in macOS
                    Sonoma 14.2
           Product: WebKit
           Version: Other
          Hardware: Unspecified
                OS: Unspecified
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: CSS
          Assignee: webkit-unassigned at lists.webkit.org
          Reporter: vitor.roriz at apple.com

"In Mail on Mac, my default message font is set to Verdana. After updating to macOS Sonoma 14.2 , I am no longer able to type an Apple logo (Shift-Option-K) in this font.

To reproduce: Update Mac to macOS Sonoma 14.2, open Mail and compose a new message using Verdana as your font. Try typing an Apple logo (Shift-Option-K). Next, try the same steps using another font. Verdana font will show a generic (broken) font glyph, but other fonts should show the correct Apple logo.

Attached is a pic showing the issue. (My email sig in Mail has always used Verdana with a red Apple logo, which is how I discovered this.)

The bug seems to only happen in Mail (Keynote, Pages, TextEdit all work fine). Also, I just tried it on a brand new Mac, just updated fresh to 14.2. Same issue occurs, 100% of the time."
