I understand, but you are presupposing that the Safari team hasn’t already given this a lot of thought (and rejected it, in the same way other browsers did!). BIP is not new! It’s like 10 years old and everyone here is well aware of it (along with all BIPs own issues, drawbacks, and trade-offs).

How Safari supports adding web apps to the Home Screen (via the share sheet) is designed to meet Safari’s user’s needs.
