I am able to reproduce this bug in Safari 15.6 on macOS 12.5 using attached test case where placing caret at the end and then pressing "Backspace", deletes two characters than one. All others browsers (Chrome Canary 106 and Firefox Nightly 104) work fine and only delete single character. Thanks!
