            Bug ID: 249082
Summary: Spanning text nodes test failure for unmatched
                    surrogate pairs
           Product: WebKit
           Version: Safari Technology Preview
          Hardware: Unspecified
                OS: Unspecified
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Text
          Assignee: webkit-unassigned at lists.webkit.org

Hi Team,

While going through Blink commit, I came across failure in font handling and I don't know myself on how to fix but Safari 16.1 and STP 159 fail this compared to Chrome Canary 110 and Firefox Nightly 109, hence I wanted to raise this as a bug.

Failing Test Case - https://jsfiddle.net/4c6nfmjk/show

^ In above, for "Spanning text nodes:", it does not show globe similar to "After element.normalize():" and also like other browsers, where both match each other.

Blink Commit - https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/blink/+/e6cead728d96c209672ebcd68ad1068b4e8f4f46

I just wanted to raise this so this can be fixed.

Thanks!
