            Bug ID: 248875
Summary: Add support for SVG favicons
           Product: WebKit
           Version: WebKit Nightly Build
          Hardware: Unspecified
                OS: Unspecified
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Page Loading
          Assignee: webkit-unassigned at lists.webkit.org
          Reporter: brandon at dreamthinkbuild.com
                CC: beidson at apple.com

I feel like there must be another bug already open for this someplace, so please close this one with reference to that bug if it exists.

Safari appears to be the final modern browser lacking support for SVG favicons. I propose the WebKit/Safari team add support for SVG favicons to advance the feature in the modern world of SVG.

The advantages of SVG are known (vector scalable to avoid needless multiple files and formats, smaller file sizes, exists as code so easier to maintain). favicons supporting SVGs would make them much easier to use across the web, being able to use a single line for them, but currently, favicons in Safari require multiple lines to support multiple variable sizes.
