Very disappointed today when I discovered is="" is not going to work in Safari/WK.

Web developers slogged through two decades of exceptions for IE and thankfully that era is over, but here we are begging a browser to just implement the spec so we can use native platform features without hacks/polyfills/frameworks.

Poor Web Components have had an uphill battle as it is, so please help and just implement is="" already (or put up something better!). Doing nothing hurts everyone.
