I recently came across this bug and posted report:

It seems that the prevailing gate keepers attitude is that Safari is an operating system, not a browser that must adhere to consistent behavior and standards. There was another browser like that though I can't seem to remember it's name...

The primary point is that a successful product or service does what it's users need. When people in leadership positions fail to comprehend that most fundamental aspect of usability those products and services fail.
