Adding my vote that it's pretty terrible that this behavior is different than the rest of the browsers, going on 13 years.  It would seem that this bug makes the recent for for ":focus-visible" pointless in Safari. Having to find work-arounds for components that rely on the focus not arbitrarily moving to the body when a user clicks a button.  This bug is forcing people to do hacky things. Is their any intention of fixing this?
