I want to throw my hat in the ring here.  I have a similar app setup to Ricardo Sohn.  We don't know what server will be connected to until runtime as they are customer hosted and often times there is a load balancer in front of that back-end the app may be connecting to which will also be inserting its own cookie. 

I am currently using Niklas's proxy similar to others in this thread but there has to be a better way.
