No. you are totally wrong. I tested with all, works like a charm.

including Web 41.0 (Powered by WebKitGTK 2.34.2), yes it is what your ref "Gnome Epiphany"

Michael Catanzaro  also confirmed that this patch will work.

The problem is not it work or not work.

It is because this patch is fixing the issue in way which maybe not elegant enough.
