            Bug ID: 224096
Summary: Sped-up videos in Safari Technology Preview Release
                    123 are pitch shifted
           Product: WebKit
           Version: Safari Technology Preview
          Hardware: Mac (Intel)
                OS: macOS 11
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Media
          Assignee: webkit-unassigned at lists.webkit.org
          Reporter: saagar at saagarjha.com

Obligatory: this is not an April Fools joke.

On Safari Technology Preview Release 123 (I checked Release 122–it works fine there), running on macOS Big Sur 11.3 Beta (20E5224a), when I adjust the playback rate of <video> elements the audio becomes pitch shifted, so people in sped-up video sound like they're characters from Alvin and the Chipmunks (and when slowed down their voices are comically deep). I can reproduce this on pretty much every video element other than YouTube for some reason. Here's a sample website that reproduces this easily: https://developer.apple.com/videos/play/wwdc2020/10663/
