I tried to change the title of this bugzilla entry since it's indeed not really a bug. 

I am currently working on a built-in Cordova feature to get around these tighter limitations. But it does not feel right. Let's see if it becomes part of Cordova.

Like said previously it would be awesome if hybrid frameworks like Cordova would have a way in WebKit to serve their bundled web code with a kind of special origin with the same freedoms like other native apps. WKUrlSchemeHandler is very powerfull and serves us kind of ok for this purpose but if WebKit could smooth out some rough edges it could have a big impact on many apps.
