            Bug ID: 208712
Summary: implement support for bidi isolating control
                    characters
           Product: WebKit
           Version: Other
          Hardware: All
               URL: https://w3c.github.io/i18n-tests/results/bidi-algorith
                    m#rli_etc
                OS: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: New Bugs
          Assignee: webkit-unassigned at lists.webkit.org
          Reporter: addison at amazon.com
                CC: ishida at w3.org

Web test results: https://w3c.github.io/i18n-tests/results/bidi-algorithm#rli_etc

Webkit is the last major browser engine that does not support the new (in 2013, v6.3) Unicode bidirectional isolating control characters. The above link shows the tests that are failing and the expected behavior. Isolating behavior is already implemented for tags such as <bdi> or <span dir=...>.

Version: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_11_6) AppleWebKit/603.2.5 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/10.1.1 Safari/603.2.5

I was tasked by W3C I18N WG to submit this request (https://www.w3.org/International/track/actions/866)
