Bug ID: 196039
Summary: Detect when layers can behave as a stacking container,
to reduce layer explosion
Product: WebKit
Version: WebKit Nightly Build
Hardware: Unspecified
OS: Unspecified
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P2
Component: Compositing
Assignee: webkit-unassigned at lists.webkit.org
Reporter: simon.fraser at apple.com
In some cases it's beneficial to treat layer as a CSS stacking context even if it isn't one, so that we create fewer descendant compositing layers.
This will involve bringing back code similar to the code I removed in r236424 and r236611.
