            Bug ID: 200390
Summary: With WebKitGTK running, leaving weston and returnin
back to it does not work
           Product: WebKit
           Version: Other
          Hardware: Unspecified
                OS: Unspecified
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: WebKitGTK
          Assignee: webkit-unassigned at lists.webkit.org
          Reporter: dpa-webkit at aegee.org
                CC: bugs-noreply at webkitgtk.org

I have WebKitGtk 2.24.3 under wayland 1.17.0, libinput 1.12.5, wayland-protocols 1.17, weston 6.0.1.

I login under the console and then start weston, so there is no GUI login manager involved.

I leave the graphical environment with Ctrl+Alt+Fx and then go back to it with Ctrl+Alt+Fy.

Sometimes going back does not work, as weston crashes partially and its crash has to be terminated by Ctrl+Alt+Backspace, so that weston can be started again.

I observed, that this happens only when WebKit is involved, e.g. when the Epiphany browser is used, or Gnome’s DevHelp, and no other applications run. On the other side, running pure Gtk applications and switching back and forth Text/GUI does not lead to this problem.

I cannot say if this happens with the MiniBrowser, as per https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=200389 I cannot tell the MiniBrowser to do anything useful.

The problem report is, that when WebKitGtk is running, leaving weston and returning back to it, puts sometime the whole GUI in a useless state.

The same thing is reported at https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/wayland/weston/issues/106, with a little bit more details about the environment.
