I find it hard to believe that Google engineers could botch updating inputMode like this. I mean, I know they do botch a ton of things: two finger double tapping, using the wrong API, etc etc. It just would be a new low. So, I will try to get my hands on a Chromebook. I guess I could read the code and debug more, but it would be way faster to just load it up on a Chromebook.
