This report is about Chrome, which uses a very old fork of WebKit, and a completely different JavaScript engine.

The behavior also reproduces in Safari and Firefox. The fact that three different engines behave identically makes it very unlikely to be an engine bug.

Please feel free to re-open if you have a small test case that makes it clear that there is a misbehavior.
